This is an AU fan-epic, by that well-known bard and fool ashteth (aka: she-of-the-stupidly-huge-long-and-unending-projects), based on the Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling.

It's based soley on the premise that Lucius Malfoy, Frank Longbottom, Marlene McKinnon, Evan Rosier, Alice Flint, Narcissa Black and Severus Snape were all friends with each other during their Hogwarts careers.

The fic is being written in a non-linear fashion, and then updated to lj on the day it "happened", rather that the day it was written. This means my dates will say things like '1983' or '1965'. i do this on purpose, no DeLorens are involved at any point.

There will be an overview Here at some point, to act as a rough guide for the uninitiated. But you can feel free to dive in anywhere you like. It'll probably all make the same kinda sense wherever you start.

Due to me being a masochist, being a pussy (undelete as prefered) at a certain point the Edgelanders-verse splits off into two. In one -verse events follow pretty closely to HP canon. And in the other they... don't. Though i do play fast-and-loose with HP canon in both -verse, at times.

This -verse is the Alter-Edgelanders, in which Marlene McKinnon and Evan Rosier survive but Severus Snape dies. Things pretty much spiral from there.

i'll be writing in both -verse concurrently (see: being a masochist) but they'll be clearly labled, and obvious to tell apart because of their content.

There will be minor cameos from folk of other fandoms (most likely a couple of Buffy characters wandering by, maybe some from Supernatural, but i make no promises) nothing big, just a walk-on.

There will also be a large number of Original Characters *ominous pause* - by which i mean: HP characters that we know next to nothing about (i mean just the name in most cases) that i have taken and made my own. If this offends then take two back buttons and call me in the morning.

A small warning: These are Slytherins and Hufflepuffs i'm writing about. They are neither clean, nor wholesome (except when they are) and the content will go from G-rated Christenings to X-rated sex scenes. i'll give warning, but not all that much, and if you take Umbridge you can have her then i really don't need to know about it.
